Gamma Knife is a non-invasive procedure that is used to treat brain tumors and other neurological disorders. Instead of using more traditional surgery techniques like knives or incisions, it uses radiation therapy. With the assistance of magnetic resonance imaging and computer mapping, a high dose of radiation is used to pinpoint and target the impacted areas of the brain.

Gamma Knife requires no invasive procedures and is one of the safest procedures available to treat brain conditions. It can be used in place of or in addition to open-skull brain surgery or whole-brain radiation, depending on the diagnosis. The recovery period is extremely quick, with most patients returning to their daily activities within 24 to 48 hours of the procedure. Any side effects experienced are relatively minor and only briefly occur.
